Let’s dive into the top blades for 2025, focusing primarily on shakehand grips. For penhold players, especially those in Japan who favor Japanese penhold blades, the relevance may be limited.
Shakehand Blades
1. Zhang Jike SUPER ALC
The performance of this blade has been extensively discussed, and many players might even be able to recite its specs. Its excellent forgiveness and consistency have made it a favorite. We even developed a similar structure called ‘Miao’ last year, which received positive feedback for its stability.

Similar blades like Donic Lindner have also gained popularity in the past year. However, if we were to consider domestic data and feedback, the top spot might go to a blade used by a domestic player.
2. OUTERFORCE ALC
The OUTERFORCE series is not one I’ve personally tried, nor do I have much interest in it. The Zhuo Qiu Wang Guo top 10 list is based on a survey and doesn’t necessarily include flagship models. Some blades make the list because they are perceived as having high value for money. The OUTERFORCE series, with its decent performance, good looks, and brand backing, is one such example.
This blade is about 6.2mm thick but uses low-density Ayous wood, so its overall elasticity is less than that of the Fan Zhendong ALC (according to official data). It is considered a relatively easy-to-control blade.
3. Falck Carbon
I don’t have a strong impression of this blade. It features an inner-layer aramid-carbon construction but uses a paulownia core, which didn’t capture my interest. Additionally, the domestic distributor rarely promotes this blade, which might also be related to Falck’s pips-out style of play. However, in Japan, many players use it for both forehand and backhand, finding it to have a good feel.
4. OUTERFORCE CAF
This blade doesn’t have any standout features, but its price is quite reasonable.
5. Zhang Jike Original Carbon (Donic Red Zhang)
When most people believe that you need to be an expert to use it effectively, it might not be the best blade. Of course, one reason for its popularity is Zhang Jike, but it is also criticized for its somewhat unreasonable price.
6. Hayata T2
This is a training blade, not the H2. Don’t be fooled… any low-cost blade from Yinhe or Sanwei would do.
7. Niwa Koki ZC INNER
This blade has a nice appearance, stable performance, and a good feel. We previously reviewed it: ‘Niwa Koki ZC INNER: Calm Offense, Capable of High Speed and Efficiency.‘
8. Inspiration Carbon King
This is somewhat unexpected, especially since Wang Manyu now uses the Fan Zhendong ALC. However, this medium-hard outer-layer aramid-carbon blade from Zhongshan has a good level of performance, with good ball retention and backhand performance. No wonder Liu Shiwen has been using it for years.
9. Hurricane King

A seven-layer all-wood blade with no particular highlights. There are many alternatives available.
