How We Work
UltraSpin publishes two different kinds of content, and we hold them to two different standards. Here is exactly what each one is, so you always know whose words you are reading.
Reviews — written by us
1. Multi-source evidence, always
No review is published with fewer than three independent Chinese-language sources — WeChat equipment columns, Zhihu answers, club forums, e-commerce buyer reviews, and Bilibili tests. One opinion is an anecdote; three or more reveal consensus and genuine disagreement.
2. Synthesis, not translation
Our reviews are not translations. Sources are treated as evidence: we aggregate facts and consensus, flag where reviewers disagree, and write every word ourselves in English.
3. We aggregate, we do not lab-test
Be clear about what this is: we do not run our own laboratory tests. A UltraSpin review is a careful synthesis of what experienced players and established reviewers report, cross-checked across sources and against manufacturer specifications. Where our per-axis ratings come from published community scores, we say so on the page.
4. Original analysis on top
Each review adds what no single source contains: our 1–10 rating with reasoning, play-style guidance, and an FAQ distilled from recurring community questions.
5. Quality gates before publishing
Every draft passes automated checks — spec fact-checking against manufacturer data, similarity screening against each source, and attribution completeness — followed by human editorial review.
6. Full attribution
Every review lists the sources it draws from. The communities that produced this knowledge deserve the credit.
Articles and news — translated, with permission
The pieces under Articles and News are something else entirely: they are English translations of Chinese articles written by other people, published on WeChat by columns such as Heima Liao Pingpang and Mogu Liao Pingpang. We republish them in English with the original publishers' permission.
Every one of these pages names the original publication, links to the Chinese original, and states plainly that UltraSpin translated it. When such an article speaks in the first person, that voice belongs to the original author — not to us. Copyright in the original work remains with its author; only the English translation is ours.
