On July 29, the second stop of the 2026 Table Tennis Super League commenced in Xiong’an New Area, Hebei. The men’s team matches on the first day were as follows:
Shanghai Estate 8-1 Shandong Luneng
Shanghai Estate triumphed over Shandong Luneng with an 8-1 victory. In the first match, Yuan Licen/Zhou Guanhong defeated Chen Yuanyu/Quan Kaiyuan 3-0, giving Shanghai an early 3-point lead. In the following singles matches, Lin Shidong defeated Li Mingxu 3-0, and Zhou Kai overcame Xu Haidong by coming back from 0-1 down to win the next two games, securing the final two points for the team.
Yuan Licen commented after the match that their doubles performance was within the normal range: “We were able to turn a 2:9 deficit in the second game into a 14:12 win, which showed good mental strength. Although we didn’t start well, we managed to claw back point by point.”
Lin Shidong noted: “This is our first match in Xiong’an, and the venue feels different from the last stop. We need to adapt game by game. Today, our opponent was a young player who played aggressively, but we stayed patient and managed to win.” He expressed hope for a strong performance in this stage of the competition.
Zhou Kai also felt his performance was solid: “I’ve been switching between singles and doubles, and today was no different. I tried to find my rhythm in the singles match. Given the fast-paced nature of the competition, I needed to be more energetic and focused after losing the first game. In the first match, the chopper duo Hu Dongshen/Sun Yang defeated Li Shangjun/Wang Jixuan 3-0, giving their team an early lead. Chen Junsong then won against Zheng Hongbo 2-1, and Chen Hengda secured the victory by winning all three games against Long Yu.
Sichuan Fenggu 8-3 Shantou Mingrun
Sichuan Fenggu faced Shantou Mingrun in today’s match. The first doubles match between Yan Sheng/Cai Shunhang and Lin Gaoyuan/Li Yijie ended in a 1-1 tie, but Yan Sheng/Cai Shunhang won the third game 11-8, giving Sichuan Fenggu a temporary lead. However, in the second singles match, Xiang Peng lost 0-3 to Chen Yuanyu, tying the score at 3-3. Beijing Yidian Xintian 8-5 Zhongchao Cable·Fujian Fuan
Beijing Yidian Xintian also played five games to defeat Zhongchao Cable·Fujian Fuan.
