On July 29, the 2026 Table Tennis Super League kicked off its second leg in Xiong’an New Area, Hebei. Here are the results from the first day of the women’s team matches:
Shanghai Centre 8 - 3 Huangshi Dongchu
Shanghai Centre emerged victorious with an 8-3 win against Huangshi Dongchu in their first match of the second phase. In the opening doubles match, Sun Mingyang and Wang Yuan lost the first set 9-11 but rallied to win the next two sets 2-1 against Fan Shuhan and Yang Huize. Sun Mingyang commented after the match: “We’ve played six matches this season, and our coordination has been improving. From her initial nervousness to now handling difficulties calmly, I feel we’re getting into our stride and hope to perform even better.”
Chen Yi secured a hard-fought victory in the second singles match, overcoming Wang Tianyi 2-1 after a 12-10 comeback in the final set. Chen Yi reflected: “Tianyi is a formidable opponent with a deeper understanding of the game. When I was trailing 7-10 in the third set, I remained calm as I had anticipated this scenario and was well-prepared. I managed to handle the balls quite effectively.”
Shi Xunyao then won her singles match against Han Feier 3-0 and teamed up with Chen Yi to secure a crucial point in the doubles, tying the match 1-1 against Wang Tianyi and Han Feier, ultimately sealing the victory for Shanghai Centre. Shi Xunyao emphasized the challenge of the doubles match: “They have played together many times and are very strong. We tried our best to compete against them. We made some mistakes when leading in the first set and lost it, so winning the second set was extremely challenging.”
Shenzhen University 8 - 2 Chengdu High-tech Ruoshuiju
Shenzhen University faced Chengdu High-tech Ruoshuiju in their first match of the second leg. After losing the first set 8-11, Zhuang Geman and Wei Jingming won the next two sets 11-9 each, securing a 2-1 victory over Xiang Junlin and He Xiaoyu. Qin Yuxuan also overcame a first-set loss to defeat Gao Yuxin 2-1, adding two more points to the team’s tally. Yao Ruixuan and Qin Yuxuan then won their respective singles matches, with Yao Ruixuan defeating Liu Ziling 3-0 and Qin Yuxuan and Yao Ruixuan teaming up to defeat Gao Yuxin and Liu Ziling 1-0, ensuring Shenzhen University’s victory.
Shandong Weiqiao·Xiangshang Sports 8 - 0 East China University of Science and Technology
Shandong Weiqiao·Xiangshang Sports dominated with an 8-0 win over East China University of Science and Technology. Qian Tianyi and Zhu Qihui started strong with a 3-0 win against Li Yake and Ma Xiaohui. Wang Yidi followed with a straight-set victory over Bai Siwen, expanding the lead. He Zhuojia then secured the final two points with a 2-0 win against Zhu Sibing.
Shandong Luneng 8 - 3 Tianjin 729
Shandong Luneng triumphed over Tianjin 729 with an 8-3 victory. In the opening doubles match, Li Rensi Jia and Hu Yi lost 1-2 to Liu Gaoyang and Du Hanjing, putting Luneng at a temporary disadvantage. Chen Xingtong then evened the score with a 2-1 win against Jiang Yiyi. Kuai Man secured a 3-0 win against Qi Fei in singles and later teamed up with Chen Xingtong to defeat Qi Fei and Jiang Yiyi 2-0, clinching the victory for Shandong Luneng.
