LeBrun Brothers Stunned by Japanese and Korean Rising Stars at WTT Ljubljana
The LeBrun brothers, Felix and Alexis, suffered surprising defeats at the WTT Ljubljana Star Challenge, both losing in the early rounds to up-and-coming Japanese and Korean players. 
In the men’s singles round of 16, Felix LeBrun was defeated by Japan’s Shunsuke Togami with a score of 1-3 (11-5, 7-11, 9-11, 4-11). 
Earlier in the day, Alexis LeBrun lost in the round of 32 to South Korea’s Park Kyu-hyun with a score of 2-3 (9-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-6, 6-11). This marks an early exit for both brothers in the tournament.
Despite their high world rankings—Felix at No. 4 and Alexis at No. 11—the LeBruns were outplayed by their lower-ranked opponents. 
Park Kyu-hyun and Shunsuke Togami, both in their early twenties, are considered rising stars in their respective countries and have secured spots in the upcoming Asian Games in Nagoya. 
Felix LeBrun’s loss was particularly unexpected given his status as the bronze medalist in men’s singles at the Paris Olympics. He had a one-game lead but was ultimately outplayed, losing the next three games. Historically, Felix has held the upper hand against Shunsuke Togami, with previous victories in various international competitions. 
The LeBrun brothers have been instrumental in France’s recent success in international competitions. They helped France win a bronze medal in the men’s team event at the Paris Olympics and repeated the feat at the recent World Team Championships in London. 
The brothers had faced off in the finals of the French National Championships for the fourth consecutive year earlier this month. However, their performance at the WTT Ljubljana Star Challenge was below par. 
The WTT American Grand Slam is set to begin soon, and fans are eagerly anticipating the LeBruns’ return to form.
