ITTF Week 29 Rankings: Matsushima Sora Sets Career High at No. 3, Zhu Yuling Drops Six Places
On July 13, the ITTF published the Week 29 world rankings. Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha continue to hold the top positions in men’s and women’s singles. China occupies two spots in the men’s top 10 and five in the women’s top 10.
Men’s Singles
The men’s top 10 is spread across eight associations, with China and Japan each holding two spots. Wang Chuqin leads with 9,177 points. Sweden’s Truls Möregård is second with 6,950 points.
Japan’s Matsushima Sora, who won the 2026 US Grand Smash men’s singles title, climbs to No. 3 with 6,298 points — a new career high. France’s Félix Lebrun is fourth with 5,779 points.
China’s Lin Shidong holds 4,862 points at No. 6. Also in the top 10: Germany’s Qiu Dang at No. 10 with 3,093 points — the second penhold player in the top 10.
The men’s top 10 is dominated by Asian players (6), with three Europeans — Möregård, Félix Lebrun, and Qiu Dang — and Brazil’s Hugo Calderano at No. 8.
Other Chinese men in the top 30: Wen Ruibo (2,525 pts, 13th), Xiang Peng (1,860 pts, 18th), Zhou Qihao (1,565 pts, 25th), Chen Yuanyu (1,450 pts, 29th), Liang Jingkun (1,379 pts, 30th).
Women’s Singles
Sun Yingsha leads with 11,350 points — the only player in the entire rankings above 10,000 points. Wang Manyu is second with 8,865 points. Japan’s Harimoto Miwa returns to No. 3 with 5,389 points.
As last year’s WTT US Grand Smash points expired this week, 2025 women’s champion Zhu Yuling drops six places to No. 9 with 3,585 points. Kuai Man (4th, 4,963 pts), Chen Xingtong (5th, 4,625 pts), Wang Yidi (6th, 4,497 pts).
The women’s top 10 is almost entirely Asian, with China holding five spots, Japan two (Harimoto Miwa and Hina Hayata at No. 7), South Korea’s Shin Yubin at No. 10, and Germany’s Sabine Winter at No. 8 as the only non-Asian player.
In positions 11-20, Japan has five more players: Odo Satsuki (11th), Honoka Hashimoto (13th), Hitomi Sato (16th), Mima Ito (17th), and Miyuu Nagasaki (20th).
With no high-level events last week, rankings movement in the top 30 was limited.
