Chinese Table Tennis Team Announced for Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games
The Chinese Table Tennis Association has announced the roster for the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 
. The selection was made following the official guidelines for athlete and coach selection for the event 
.
Men’s Team Selection
The men’s team features Wang Chuqin, Lin Shidong, and Wen Ruibo, who were directly selected based on their world singles rankings. Huang Youzheng was chosen for his strong performance in doubles and mixed doubles. Liang Jingkun and Zhou Qihao withdrew from the selection process due to fatigue and injuries, prompting a team internal selection tournament.
The selection tournament took place on June 3rd, with the top-ranked right-handed and left-handed players competing. Xiang Peng emerged victorious in the finals against Yuan Licen, securing his spot on the team after deliberations and expert consultations 
.
Women’s Team Selection
Sun Yingsha and Wang Manyu were directly selected based on their world singles rankings. Kuai Man was chosen for her performance in doubles and mixed doubles. Chen Yi earned her spot as the highest-ranked player born after 2004.
The final spot on the women’s team was determined through a selection tournament among U22 athletes. Fan Shuhan won the tournament, defeating Qin Yuxuan in the final playoff match, and secured her place on the team 
.

- Men’s Team: Wang Chuqin, Lin Shidong, Wen Ruibo, Xiang Peng, Huang Youzheng
- Women’s Team: Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, Chen Yi, Kuai Man, Fan Shuhan
Event-Specific Selections
The selection for individual events prioritized both competitive strength and the development of new talents. The lineup for each event was determined based on the latest world rankings, international performance, and past records against key competitors:
- Men’s Singles: Wang Chuqin, Lin Shidong
- Women’s Singles: Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu
- Mixed Doubles: Lin Shidong/Kuai Man, Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha

Coach’s Statement
Head coach Qin Zhijian emphasized the team’s focus on the Olympic cycle, stating, “Our participation in the Asian Games is guided by our Olympic preparations, with an emphasis on practical competition experience. The selection for individual events reflects our strategic approach to balancing immediate success with long-term development.”
The table tennis events at the 20th Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games will take place from September 20th to September 28th, 2026
